Best Careers 2007 from U.S. News and World Report

U.S. News & World Report recently released its list of Best Careers 2007. Many of the careers that appear on this list have been profiled right here on the About.com Career Planning Site. They include architect, audiologist, editor, engineer, librarian, management consultant, occupational therapist, optometrist, pharmacist, school psychologist and speech-language therapist. Whenever I write about any of these "Best Careers" lists, I feel like I must post a "buyer beware" type of warning. Just because something makes it onto a best careers list doesn't mean it is the best, or even a good, career choice for you. Nor is a career not a good choice for you if it makes it onto a list of overrated careers. Before settling in on a particular career, do your homework. Learn about that occupation, find out what the job duties are, how much those working in the field earn, what the educational and other requirements are and what the job outlook is.
