Keeping Personal Issues from Affecting Your Job

Wouldn't it be great if you could just go to work and do your job, leaving all your personal issues at home where they belong? While it would be ideal to completely separate your private life from your work life, you can't always do that. If you get diagnosed with an illness, for example, you may need to take time off.
