Social Work: Career Brief

Social workers help people deal with problems they have with friends, family members and even co-workers. To become a social worker one must have, at a minimum, a bachelor's degree. A master's degree in social work, however, opens up more opportunities. Social workers held about 562,000 jobs in 2004 and employment in this field is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations according the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
