Honesty: Impossible

At least twice a year it seems I am writing about the topic of lying on one's resume.That is generally how often I read a news story about a public figure doing just that. This time, it is a celebrity chef who is in trouble for padding his resume. Robert Irvine, who is host of the Food Network show Dinner: Impossible, made false claims about his education and past employment. After the St. Petersburg Times published an article about Mr. Irvine's dishonesty, for which he has since apologized, the Food Network decided not to renew his contract. I'm sure there are many people who lie on their resumes without ever getting caught, but those whose lies are uncovered certainly do suffer for their misdeeds.
