Brown Bag It

Monday July 28, 2008
Everyone is complaining about the cost of everything these days. Gasoline prices are higher than they've ever been. The price of groceries is going up, up and up. We're all looking at ways to cut costs. Some of us may choose to give up that expensive cup of latte from that fancy coffee shop. Others may choose to eat at home more often. Another great money-saving thing to do is to bring your own lunch to work.

Brown bagging it doesn't have to mean sitting at your desk working away your lunch hour. You could walk to a nearby park while the weather is nice or you could eat your lunch in the staff lunch room if your employer provides one. If you have nowhere to eat your brown bag lunch other than at your desk, put your work aside while you do. Leaf through a magazine, read a book or do a puzzle while you enjoy your meal. If you're having trouble figuring out what to bring for lunch, check out these Lunch Recipes and Menus from the About.com Busy Cooks Guide, Linda Larsen. Do you brown bag it? Take the poll and let us know. If you have any brown bag lunch recipes to share, post them here, by click on "comments" below.
