Looking for Work? Consider Applying for a Federal Job

"While companies large and small continue to shrink their workforces, the government remains on a steady hiring course across the country," according to Forbes.com in an article titled Government Jobs You Should Apply For Now. If you are looking for work, you should consider the Federal government as a potential employer. Regardless of your occupation, it is likely the government hires workers in your field. Although salaries for these jobs may be lower than for those in the private sector, the pay is decent. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management recently released its 2009 Salary Tables so you can take a look at how much you can earn. Given the instability of the private sector job market, many people consider the stability offered by Federal employment priceless.
