Repairing a Damaged Reputation at Work

A reader just sent me this question:

How do you repair the damage you’ve done to your reputation based on after work partying?

Shaking a bad reputation isn't easy. People aren't usually willing to give up a belief they have about an individual, particularly if it is well-earned. The most important thing now is what you do going forward. First, you should apologize to anyone whom your actions affected. Simply pretending something never happened won't work. Since there's no need to dwell on the past, apologize only once and never bring it up again. Then you can begin to establish a new reputation for yourself — hopefully one that will put you in a more favorable light.
