Has your job been getting you down? Perhaps you're working too hard and feel like you have no say about what you do and how you do it. Your boss doesn't seem to care how you feel and your co-workers have their own problems to deal with. That sadness you feel may be more serious than you think—you may be clinically depressed. An unmanageable work load and a lack of control can lead to job strain ("A Brief Introduction to Job Strain"). When coupled with low work social support that, say British researchers, can lead to major depressive disorder. The study will be published in the December 2012 issue of the American Journal of Public Health.
