How about paying $50,000 to have someone else do your job? According to an article I ready yesterday on Abcnews.com (US Software Developer Caught Outsourcing His Job to China), it really happened!
Considering the crazy things people do to jeopardize their jobs, I shouldn't be surprised by this. After all, a couple of years ago I wrote about a flight attendant who cursed at passengers, grabbed some beer and then exited the plane via the emergency slide. This story, though, shocked me. I enjoy the web just as much as anyone—I mean who doesn't get a chuckle seeing one cat push another down a flight of stairs—but is it really worth $50,000 and your six-figure salary job (yes folks, the article says his salary was several hundred thousand dollars), not to mention your reputation?
