The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is used to assess personality. The Survey of Interpersonal Values (SIV) is a value inventory. The Strong Interest Inventory (SII), formerly known as the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory, is used by career practitioners to find out what your interests are. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) is most appropriately used by psychologists to assess personality and psychopathology. It is used to make decisions about the course of clinical treatment. If you ever encounter a career development professional who suggests using the MMPI please find someone else with whom to work.
