What a year 2010 has been. It would be a colossal understatement to say things were tough. We continued to see unemployment rates of 9.5% or higher with a peak of 9.9% in April. I guess we can consider it fortunate that we haven't again seen the rates of 10% and above that we saw at the end of 2009. Those without jobs, searched for new ones. Those with jobs fought to hold onto them. And those with jobs they hated felt the need to tough it out until things some day improve.
While job numbers dominated the scene, there was more career-related news than that and not all of it was bad. Some was actually good. Unfortunately there was some news that was quite ugly. The most important thing is that there were valuable lessons to be learned from all of it, the good, the bad and the ugly.
