By Dawn Rosenberg McKay, About.com

When choosing a career, it is helpful to get information about it from those who actually work in the occupation one is considering. Please share information about your career as a wedding planner so that those thinking of entering this field can make an informed decision.

  1. Describe what you do as a wedding planner?
  2. What do you like about being a wedding planner? What don't you like about it?
  3. With the proper training, how easy or difficult is it for someone to get an entry level job as a wedding planner?
  4. Are you happy you became a wedding planner? Why or why not?

a wedding planner

If you are meant to be a wedding planner you should reconsider that answering these simple questions: Are you much of a planner? Are you patient? Do you have many friends? Do you know about music, food, fashion etc..? A wedding planner must be organized and must have many ideas for the bride to choose from. I think it is a really cool job to be able to design another person's perfect wedding -- for them to be able to give you the power to design a moment that will live in there minds for a life time. And you can only hope they will be together by life. So I love my job even though sometimes is hard and I am sure you would love it too.
